Matthew J. Pellowski

Editor, Sound Designer, Storyteller
Matthew J. Pellowski is an accomplished editor and sound designer whose career spans more than two decades across film, television, and digital media. After graduating from Hillsborough High School in 1997, he earned an Associate’s degree in Media Arts from Raritan Valley Community College before completing a BFA in Screenwriting at the prestigious School of Visual Arts in New York City.
His first industry experiences came through an internship at Late Night with Conan O’Brien, which led to early jobs with NBC’s Ahmad Rashad’s Sports Desk, storyboard work for Spike Lee’s Drop Squad Productions, and assistant editing roles on projects including NBC’s Lost, ESPN’s D League, and a variety of groundbreaking MTV and VH1 reality shows such as The Liza Minnelli Show, developed during the early boom of reality television following The Osbournes.
Pellowski went on to work on two seasons of NBC’s The Apprentice starring Donald Trump, the ESPN documentary series Sidelines, and even contributed as an illustrator for The Cosby Show. By 2011, he was shaping new forms of digital content as part of MLB’s innovative online comedy series The MLB Fan Cave, which blended Major League Baseball athletes with social media-driven comedy.
As his career developed, Matthew became a trusted editor and producer for major networks including Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, History Channel, ESPN, HGTV, Food Network, and many more. Known for his fast, bold editing style and willingness to take creative risks, he was recognized early on for pushing the boundaries of conventional television storytelling. While editing his first real estate reality series for HGTV, he pioneered the use of hip-hop music over traditional scoring, giving the show a fresh, modern energy that set it apart.
Matthew is also an accredited narrative and scripted film editor, having cut feature-length documentaries for theatrical distribution as well as a number of narrative films for both domestic and international release. His ability to seamlessly merge visual storytelling and sound design has earned him recognition across both the television and film industries.
Matthew’s ability to transform concepts into marketable television quickly made him a go-to creative in the development world. Of the first ten development tapes he helped craft, eight received network funding—a success rate that solidified his reputation as both an editor and a producer who could consistently deliver sellable content. Over the next 15 years, he went on to develop and cut several hundred development tapes for nearly every major U.S. television network, as well as international broadcasters.
Today, Matthew’s style is celebrated for being distinct, energized, and aggressively creative—a seamless merging of sound and image that brings cinematic intensity to every project, whether a documentary, commercial, corporate interview, or narrative feature. His philosophy is simple yet powerful: treat every story, regardless of format, like a cinematic masterpiece.
